Question 1

What is botanical pressing?

Accepted Answer

Botanical pressing is an age-old craft in which flowers are dried under a press for several weeks. This holds their beauty, shape and colours still, preserving them almost indefinitely in artistic compositions.

Question 2

Which flowers press best?

Accepted Answer

Fine, delicate flowers (pansies, cosmos, anemones, delphiniums, small roses) press beautifully. Very thick flowers (such as large lilies or proteas) sometimes have to be taken apart petal by petal, or cannot be pressed flat. I’m always happy to advise you on choosing your flowers.

Question 3

Can a bouquet that has already dried be preserved?

Accepted Answer

If your bouquet has already air-dried, all is not lost… Every flower responds differently to time, so do show it to me and I can see what’s possible and advise you as best I can. Don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Question 4

How do I look after my herbarium or floral picture?

Accepted Answer

To keep the colours vibrant over the years, keep your piece out of direct sunlight and away from very humid rooms (such as the bathroom). A regular dusting of the frame with a soft cloth is all it needs. I also recommend not opening the frame or taking the piece out: it has been carefully sealed to protect the flowers from air and moisture.

Question 5

How does bouquet preservation work?

Accepted Answer

It all starts with an online booking, ideally before your event (for any questions, contact me). You then drop your bouquet off at the workshop in Fribourg, or send it to me. The flowers are pressed for 4 to 6 weeks, then I create the composition before the final framing. The choice is yours: I can show it to you beforehand, or keep it secret so you can enjoy the surprise. The whole process generally takes 8 to 12 weeks. Payment is made online when you book.

Question 6

How do I send my bouquet to the workshop?

Accepted Answer

Ideally, send it within 24 to 48 hours of your event, by express and early in the week, so the flowers arrive still fresh. A few simple steps are all it takes (stems in damp kitchen paper, protection, a sturdy box): everything is explained step by step, with the shipping address, in the guide How to prepare your bouquet for shipping. You can also drop it off directly at the workshop.

Question 7

What sizes do you offer for a bouquet herbarium?

Accepted Answer

Two sizes: A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) and A3 (30 × 40 cm or 29.7 × 42 cm), each in a rectangular or circular version. The wooden frame with glass is always included. Prices are detailed on the Preserved bouquets page.

Question 8

What personalised creations do you offer?

Accepted Answer

Birth prints, with the baby’s first name and date of birth, in three sizes (A5, 18 × 24 cm or A4). Initials, one or two letters, either composed entirely of flowers or encircled by a floral composition. And first names, up to 8 letters (for a longer name, write to me). You set up your piece directly on its page and order it online.

Question 9

Can I choose the colours?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you choose one of four colour ranges: blue, yellow, pink or green. This is the main shade of your piece: the flowers are then paired with other natural tones for a harmonious, one-of-a-kind composition.

Question 10

Can I use my own flowers or a different colour?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for a supplement. Choose “Another colour” in the colour range and request a quote: your choices are already in the message, so all that’s left is to describe what you’d like, and I’ll send you a quote with the final price before I begin.

Question 11

Can I add a date or a short message?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for initials and first names. Turn on the “Personalisation” option on the product page to add a short text (a date, a few words). The supplement is shown next to the option.

Question 12

Which payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

Payment is made securely online via Stripe: credit card, TWINT, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Your order is confirmed as soon as payment is received. Prices are in Swiss francs (CHF), and Floréa Créations is not currently subject to VAT.

Question 13

What are the delivery times and costs?

Accepted Answer

I deliver within Switzerland only. Pieces available in the shop are dispatched within 3 to 5 working days, for CHF 15. You can also choose free collection in person, from the workshop in Fribourg by appointment. You make your choice at the payment step. Personalised creations and bouquet herbaria are made by hand to order: if you have a date in mind, just let me know.

Question 14

What is your returns policy?

Accepted Answer

As each piece is one of a kind and handmade, returns are accepted only in the event of damage during transport. You have 14 days from receipt to let me know, with photos. Full details are in the terms and conditions of sale.

Question 15

Can I have a certificate of authenticity?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every original piece is one of a kind and made by hand. A signed certificate of authenticity can be provided on request when you place your order.
